Deptford Does Art
Five years ago Deptford Does Art started as a part time art project run by Zuzana, a manager of a local pub, and it quickly gained a good following. Having exhibited the work of more than 70 artists in several Deptford venues to date, Zuzana was joined by her husband Dan last year to support the demands of its growing success.
Deptford has a strong sense of community and we have enjoyed meeting so many of its wonderful residents; we love celebrating the culture and creativity it holds. After two years of working with other venues in the area we are now proud to have a permanent gallery space at No.28 Deptford High Street. We have a beautiful basement gallery space exhibiting locally created art and a fantastic bar (open on event nights) as well as a retail shop with prints, zines, homeware, clothing, gifts and cards - all made by local makers and designers. With a rich program of exhibitions, workshops and talks there is much to see and plenty of opportunity to get involved, be creative and meet wide-range of people from the community. Private hire also available for parties up to 60 people.
