Trinity Laban
Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance is the UK’s only conservatoire of music and contemporary dance that brings together performers and practitioners to train, collaborate, research and perform in inspiring creative, intellectual and physical spaces.
Trinity Laban identify, support and develop talented and innovative performers and creators wherever they may be found and throughout their creative lives, and work to enrich the cultural, social and economic life of our local, national and international communities.
Trinity Laban has been an integral part of the Lewisham community for many years and has extensive experience in public engagement using music and dance to promote place making, health and well-being, skills development and cultural and economic regeneration. The organisation provides opportunities in the local community for children, young people and adults from 2- 90 years to explore, develop their talents and perform, working in schools, youth, health and disability sectors and offer training for artists, teachers and community workers.
The Dance Faculty based in Deptford in the RIBA- award winning Laban Building houses one of the leading centres for contemporary dance in Europe including a celebrated theatre providing a public programme of contemporary dance. Our links with the professional dance world, local communities and other arts organisations locally, nationally and internationally ensure that the experience which we provide, is a rich and rewarding one.
As part of the Creative Enterprise Zone the Trinity Laban will offer a specialist programme of dance artist support and working with partners create in New Cross and Deptford a dynamic and thriving community where innovation can flourish and local people have increased opportunities to engage and pursue careers and opportunities in the creative industries.
