Lewisham Council helped safeguard Art Hub by relocating them to the Mornington Centre on a 5-year lease, preserving 75 artist spaces, adding 25 more, and delivering 18,000sqft of affordable workspace.

Art Hub at the Mornington Centre: 

Delivering workspace for over 20 years in Creekside, Art Hub where at risk of closing their space in Deptford due to redevelopment plans. However the Council have been able to support Art Hub by relocating them on a five-year lease to revitalise the Mornington Centre building in New Cross. 

This not only safeguarded Art Hub as an organisation in the CEZ but supported 75 existing artists and created space for a further 25. In total this is a delivery of over 18,000sqft of new affordable workspace in the CEZ of Deptford and New Cross

This intervention by Lewisham Council has also provided a new home for Arts Network, a charity that supports residents with mental health challenges via art intervention.
