Morenikeji Textiles
Growing up in Southeast London, Kemi related to West African culture primarily through the nostalgia of her parents. Thinking about textiles allowed her to explore identity through colour, pattern, and style. Her clothes give the wearer the ability to express a hybrid identity.
Taking inspiration from West African textile traditions and contemporary British fashion. Kemi’s designs tell a unique story about the intersections of material, culture, and craft.
Sustainability is at the core of her design process. All of her products are knitted using locally sourced deadstock yarns, everything is handmade and fully fashioned in a zero-waste production in her London studio.
