M A E V E
M A E V E is a singer, explorer and textural artist, with a very free approach to expression. With a never-ending line of migrant heritage and ancestry, multiculturalism became an identity of its own, where concepts of nationalism, belonging and cultural definition were constantly reimagined and reflected through a mutlidisciplinary approach to art and expression. As a singer, she centres a very free and experimental approach to her music through vocal guidance and uses Jazz as a platform, a lens – wherein boundaries, whichever they may be are obsolete. As an outdoor explorer and adventurer, she creates embodied field and visual recordings in powerful environments – creating experimental, raw soundscapes, interwoven with soul and jazz - seeking to explore social dualisms, within and without.
