Finishing Department Manager

The Finishing Department Manager leads the operations of theprintspace’s London finishing studio, overseeing framing, mounting and high-end finishing to rigorous archival and gallery standards. This is a hands-on “player-manager” role, balancing team leadership with precision technical work including moulding and glass cutting, complex mounting (acrylic, aluminium, sub-frames), and CNC-driven production. Acting as the final custodian of quality before sign-off, the role ensures flawless presentation, alignment and finish. The post holder manages workflow logic, tracks deadlines and SLAs through production software, and collaborates closely with printing, mounting and dispatch teams to maintain consistency, efficiency and excellence during peak gallery seasons.

Key skills:

Proven experience leading a framing, mounting or fine art finishing team

Strong technical knowledge of archival framing and fine art presentation

Confident use of CNC cutting and precision finishing equipment

Ability to balance hands-on craftsmanship with team leadership

Production planning, scheduling and SLA management under pressure

Rigorous quality control and final inspection standards

Collaborative communication across mounting, printing and dispatch teams
