Assistant Producer

The HandleBards are seeking an Assistant Producer to support delivery of their 2026 touring season. Salary: £18,000 pro rata (based on £30,000 FTE) for 21 hours per week, 12-month fixed-term. This part-time role assists with day-to-day company operations, production planning, touring logistics, and marketing support. Working across co-working spaces, remotely, and on tour, you’ll help deliver two outdoor theatre tours and The HandleBards’ first mid-scale co-production. Ideal for someone with production experience who thrives in collaborative environments, enjoys problem-solving, and is excited by sustainable, joyful touring theatre. Evening and weekend work required, with TOIL provided.

Key skills:

Minimum two years’ experience in theatre or arts production

Experience in arts social media and marketing

Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Ability to work independently and manage tasks autonomously

Strong IT proficiency (WordPress, Adobe CC, or Xero a bonus)

Understanding of touring theatre and/or sustainable practices (desirable)
