Artist Therapist
Theatre Troupe CIO seeks an Artist Therapist to co-lead its East London Youth Troupe from January–December 2026. Fee: £5,000 total (£416/month, part-time, 4.5 hrs/week). This unique hybrid role blends creative arts and psychotherapy to support vulnerable young people (ages 7–12) through visual arts, theatre, and craft activities. The Artist Therapist will design and deliver engaging workshops, offer emotional support in sessions, and provide therapeutic supervision to staff and volunteers. This is an opportunity to use both your artistic practice and clinical expertise to help children build confidence, creativity, and resilience in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment.
- Key skills:

UKCP, BACP, or HCPC qualification in psychotherapy or counselling
Active artistic or visual arts practice
Experience facilitating arts workshops with children or young people
Strong understanding of trauma-informed and attachment-based practice
Excellent interpersonal and empathetic communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with theatre practitioners and volunteers
Crisis management and safeguarding awareness
