Framing & Mounting Department Manager

We’re now looking for a Framing & Mounting Department Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our London finishing studio. At theprintspace, we’re the world leaders in fine art and photographic printing

Leading and coordinating the Framing & Mounting teams to meet production goals

Planning workloads, managing SLAs, and maintaining workflow efficiency

Overseeing CNC cutting integration alongside traditional framing and mounting processes

Maintaining quality control throughout production to ensure flawless presentation

Monitoring stock, materials, and equipment maintenance to minimise downtime and waste

Conducting regular team briefings and fostering collaboration across departments

Managing freelancers and flexible schedules during peak periods

Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workspace

Quality & Technical Oversight

Uphold museum-grade standards in framing, mounting, and advanced finishing (Diasec, acrylic, aluminium, CNC-routed substrates)

Supervise precision cutting and finishing processes, ensuring defect-free results

Implement and refine best practices to enhance craftsmanship and efficiency

Oversee maintenance schedules for CNC and mounting equipment
Team Development & Leadership

Coach and train staff in advanced finishing and CNC workflows

Manage scheduling and workload flexibility while maintaining team wellbeing

Foster a culture built on precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards

Key skills:

Proven experience leading a framing, mounting, or fine art finishing team

Strong technical knowledge of fine art presentation and CNC-driven workflows

Skilled in production planning, team leadership, and quality management

Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills

A hands-on, proactive leader who thrives in a creative, fast-paced studio environment
