Lantern Making Assistant
Light Whale International is seeking a Lantern Making Assistant for part-time, temporary work (fee: £100 per half-day session + parade day) this October–November in Southwark. This paid traineeship is open to 18–30-year-old Southwark residents interested in community arts. You’ll support experienced artists in lantern-making workshops, guiding participants of all ages as they construct willow lanterns for Light Up the Old Docks — a new lantern parade on 15 November in Russia Dock Woodlands. Training in lantern-making techniques will be provided. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on creative experience, develop facilitation skills, and take part in a large-scale community celebration.
