Wigs,Hair&Makeup Tutor (WHAM)
The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) is seeking an experienced Wigs, Hair & Makeup (WHAM) Tutor to join its Costume Department. This part-time permanent role involves training technical theatre and acting students across multiple courses while contributing to the preparation of RADA’s public productions. The successful candidate will collaborate with costume designers and directors to create and deliver hair and makeup looks, supervising their realisation in rehearsals and performances. Applicants must demonstrate strong expertise in wigs, hair, and makeup within a theatre setting, including proficiency with Afro and textured hair, and a collaborative, inclusive approach to teaching.

Professional experience in wigs, hair, and makeup within theatre
Strong skills in styling Afro and textured hair, as well as straight hair
Knowledge of makeup for a wide range of skin tones and lighting conditions
Teaching or training experience in a creative setting
Ability to collaborate with designers, directors, and students
Strong communication, supervision, and team leadership skills
Commitment to inclusive and anti-racist practices in theatre education
