Potter in Residence
County Hall Pottery is seeking a talented ceramic artist/designer/potter for a year-long Potter In Residence programme. Based in our vibrant ceramics studio and gallery, the residency offers time, space, and resources to develop your practice, engage with the community, and create new work. You'll receive a dedicated workspace, full studio and kiln access, teaching opportunities, and a solo exhibition in August 2026. Responsibilities include supporting studio operations for 20 hours per week, developing your personal work, and contributing to gallery events. Salary: £20,000, part-time (20 hrs/week), 14 days holiday. Applicants must source their own accommodation.

Proven experience in ceramics as an artist, designer, or potter
Ability to develop and manage a personal studio practice independently
Confident in using professional studio equipment (e.g. slab roller, extruder, pottery wheels)
Familiarity with glaze preparation, kiln operation, and clay processing (gas and electric kilns)
Experience or interest in teaching ceramics to varied skill levels
Strong time management and ability to balance personal practice with studio responsibilities
Willingness to engage in community events, talks, and open studio activities
Comfortable working collaboratively within a shared studio environment
Professionalism and readiness to represent County Hall Pottery in exhibitions and promotional activities
Self-sufficient in arranging own accommodation for the duration of the residency
