Mural Artist (design and delivery)
Westminster City Council seeks a creative practitioner or public art group to co-design and deliver a large-scale mural along the Network Rail boundary under the Westway (W2/W9), adjacent to the Grand Union Canal. Spanning approximately 120m, the mural will celebrate the area’s character, enhance the towpath, and foster community pride.
The ideal candidate will have experience in co-creation, community engagement, and public art delivery. The mural should ensure maximum visual impact and reflect local identity.

Insurance:
- Public Liability Insurance levels minimum cover of £10m
- Employers Liability Insurance minimum cover of £5m
- Professional Indemnity minimum cover of £2mArtwork essential requirements:
- Site specific artwork that addresses the brief requirements and objectives
- Requirement to work to Network Rail and the Canal & River Trust (CRT) standards and requirements
- Artwork must be developed and delivered collaboratively with local people (see 'Engagement' heading on p.11 for further details)
- Designed for life of over 20 years
- Durable with minimal maintenance requirements. Use of anti-graffiti paint or coating suitable for external use.
