Sight-read

Beth Cowey and Sophia Vigne Welsh, the inaugural recipients of the Clyde Hopkins Mentoring Award, mark the culmination of their year at APT with an exhibition showcasing work created over the past 12 months.

Sight-read is a two-person exhibition featuring paintings and works on paper by Cowey and Vigne Welsh. Employing indexical mark-making and a restrained material vocabulary, the artists explore gesture, referencing the physicality of the body and the structure of musical notation.
