Toying with the Past: Games and Toys Through the Years

08 Aug 24 — 15 Oct 24
Exhibition
Venue: Rutherford Building. Library foyer
An exhibition showcasing historical toys and games from the last hundred years - part of the Museum of Everyday Life

This exhibition documents the important role that toys and games play in our memories of childhood and the past.

Ideas, values, understandings, behaviours, outlooks, perceptions; all of these and more are shaped by the objects we are exposed to and engage with when we are children.

The exhibition has been curated by Cindy Liu (BA History of Art) assisted by Madeleine Beaumont-Grice (BA History with Politics).

The exhibition is part of the Museum of Everyday Life directed and curated by Dr John Price.

The exhibition runs from 8 August to 15 October 2024 and is freely accessible to the public between 9.00am and 9.00pm every day (apart from public holidays).
