Culture Art Society (CAS)
Culture Art Society (CAS) is an interdisciplinary research platform founded by Awa Konaté to make African cultural activism and arts education accessible to BAME working-class people. CAS draws on multiple disciplines to form a critical curatorial practice core to programming as well as researching the cultural economy of African archives.
CAS is committed to circumventing hierarchies of cultural canons and their access. Our ambition is to develop an art space, where we can support cultural workers, whose work is concerned with preservation, critical thought and making across communities to include those that are often not centred.
