Akoma
Akoma is an education justice charity which runs an annual pop-up school for marginalised children in Lewisham. We connect socially excluded Black girls aged 8-14 to gallery spaces where they can access free fine art, material design and sound engineering workshops to find a voice in the arts. They work with practising artists, psychotherapists and curators to develop a youth-led exhibition which runs at the end of their summer program.
