Music Tutors – Lewisham Music

Lewisham Music are looking to recruit new music tutors to join our team with the passion to inspire young people with a love of learning and making music.

Working for Lewisham Music in schools involves a variety of teaching, including group tuition and whole class tuition. Work often involves working in more than one school and visiting multiple schools in one day. Our current vacancies are -

Violin tutor

3 primary schools, teaching group violin tuition:

Wednesday 13:00–15:00 – school 1
Thursday 09:30–11:30 – school 2
Thursday 12:00–15:00 – school 3

Recorder tutor

Flexible day – 1.5 hours large group tuition – school 4
Tuesday – 09:00–11:45 – whole class cover tuition for 5 weeks second half autumn term – school 5

Ukulele tutor

Tuesday 12:30–15:00 (day could be flexible) – whole class cover tuition for 5 weeks second half autumn term – school 5

Djembe/drum kit tutor

Monday 13:30–15:30 – whole class djembe and drum kit – school 7
Friday 09:30–11:00 – whole class djembe – school 8
Djembe teaching also available in other schools – details TBC

Pay

Individual and small-group tuition starts from £33.15 (inc. holiday pay) per hour depending on qualifications.

Whole class and ensemble tuition starts from £34.82 (inc. holiday pay) per hour depending on qualifications.

One-off projects and performances is £37.11 (inc. holiday pay) per hour.

Contract type

Permanent – Employed PAYE.
