Theatre & Community Hires Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Business Development team at the Albany, a performing arts centre that exists to inspire, develop and support creativity in South East London. With year-round activities and events including award-winning programmes for young creatives and adults over 60, music, theatre, spoken word and family performance, the Albany is led by the talent and imagination of its local community.

Working within a small but dynamic team, the Theatre & Community Hires Manager is responsible for managing the Hires team, which offers a variety of hireable services and spaces across three sites.

We work with a wide variety of hirers and spaces across three sites, and all the money we earn from venue hire is reinvested back in our programme and buildings. For many people, the Hires team is their first point of contact with the Albany.

In the role, you will lead on coordinating the booking of the majority of larger theatre hire events, whilst working closely with the wider team to facilitate uptake of room bookings and associated earned income services. Types of hire events could include:

Youth recitals and theatre performances
Festival-style building take-overs
Conferences or lectures
Music concerts or gigs
and many more!
